Effortless Improvisation is a five part jazz improvisation mini course designed to integrate into classes of a secondary teacher’s jazz band course.
With emphasis on using existing secondary jazz band repertoire, this lecture seeks to provide teachers with a simple and accessible method to demystify improvisation. Using methods rooted in the tradition of jazz, this approach promotes student creativity and exploration while comprehensively covering melodic, harmonic, and rhythmic details in a way that students can enjoy on various levels.
